River cruise from Louvain to Mechlin, the Zoo of Planckendael or the recreation park at Hofstade.

This is a combination of boat and bus.

Place of departure is Leuven Vaartkom, time of departure 9:30am sharp. The boat will navigate the quiet Leuven-Dijle canal, the banks of which are covered with green grass. It will also be locked at several places. The boat reaches its destination Mechelen at approximately 1:30pm. After we have disembarked, a guide will accompany us on a walk along the most important places of interest of this artistic and cultural city: the 'Wolmarkt' with its Episcopal Palace, the 'Schoutestraat' with its 'Refugie van St. Truiden' and the 'Refugie van Tongerloo', the small beguinage and the Sint-Kathelijnekerk, the 'Oude Schepenhuis' (Old Alderman's House), de Kraanbrug (de Drie Huizekes), etc. Via the 'Zoutwerf' and ''t Pleintje' we will go to the Church of Our Lady near the river Dijle.
The coach will collect you after the walk. It takes you back to the place from where the trip started (in Leuven) at approximately 5:30pm.
You can take your bicycle on board and return from Mechelen to Leuven by bicycle via the 'Jaagpad'. A small detour along the 'Sportimonium', the new and complete museum of sports and exercise, is worth the while. In the 'Sportimonium' there is also a very special outdoors room with unique old popular games (admission fee: €4 per person).
Groups with transport of their own can visit the 'Sportimonium' after the boat trip instead of taking part in the guided city tour.

You can have a cold dish on board (for the price of €9 per person, provided you book). You can also bring your own picnic
