By boat through Brabant and Brussels
We depart from Halle at 10.00 am at Suikerkaai. Before sailing towards Brussels, we first make a city tour in Halle. We make a beautiful cruise past Lembeek, where we see the famous, large wall drawings. We see the overflow system of the Senne into the canal, a protection mechanism against flooding. In the wide section of the canal downstream of the Lembeek lock, we turn right and pass through the center of Halle, followed by a first passage through a lock. Shortly afterwards, we pass Buizingen. The cruise then continues through the green (southern) belt of Brabant, passing through Lot (Beersel) and Ruisbroek (Sint-Pieters-Leeuw), and further along Drogenbos.
After that, urbanization intensifies as we pass right through Anderlecht, then Molenbeek and central Brussels. Then there are Laeken, Schaerbeek and Neder-over-Heembeek, where the main port activities of Brussels are located. Near the Buda Bridge and high bridge of the Ring, we sail into Vilvoorde in Flanders. We end our tour in the center of Vilvoorde, where a wide range of connecting train and bus transportation is available within walking distance.
