Boat trip through Brabant and Brussels from Halle

Prior to the boat trip, there may be a guided walk to the 'Senne terraces' in the nearby Albert Park.
Participants already present at 9:15 am at the boarding point of the boat in Halle can take a short walk with the boat guide to the 'Senne terraces', in the Albert Park located 400m from the boarding point. The group will be back at the boat at 9:45am for embarkation.

By boat through Brabant and Brussels
We depart from Halle at 10 am at the Suikerkaai. Before sailing towards Brussels, we first make a short cruise passing Lembeek, where we see some famous street art paintings. We discover the 'overflow system' of the Senne into the canal, a protection mechanism against flooding. In the wide canal section downstream of the Lembeek lock, the ship will turn and will pass through the center of Halle.

We will pass the first ship lock on our route. Shortly afterwards, we pass Buizingen. The cruise then continues through the green (southern) belt, passing through the locks of Lot (Beersel) and Ruisbroek (Sint-Pieters-Leeuw), and further along Drogenbos. We pass several ship locks.

Urbanization gets intense as we pass through Anderlecht, Molenbeek and the center of Brussels. Then we sail through the districts Laeken, Schaerbeek and Neder-over-Heembeek, where the main port activities of Brussels are located.

We pass the Buda bridge and approach Vilvoorde in Flanders. The boat tour ends the center of Vilvoorde, where a wide range of connecting train and bus transportation is available within walking distance.

On request of groups of 40 participants or more a guided tour can be organised at Tour & Taxis or through the district of the ancient port of Brussels, Sainte-Catherine. Timing: 1h30min. (contact us for more information).
