Summer boat trips on the Sea canal, the Rupel and the Scheldt, departing from Kapelle-op-den-Bos and Willebroek. With visit of Rupelmonde

A summer boat trip through varied river landscapes. We sail along the Sea Canal through the rural Green Belt and pass the ship lock at Zemst.

Once past Willebroek (where you can also board), we soon reach the charming village of Klein-Willebroek, nestled between the Sea Canal and the Rupel. Klein-Willebroek has managed to preserve its old village centre. We pass through his historic lock, which connects the small inland harbour with the Rupel.

The Rupel takes us past Boom, Niel, Puurs and Schelle and finally to the Scheldt. The 'Scheldt Valley National Park', with its typical salt marshes and mudflats, its creeks and reed beds, is one of the major national parks in our country.

We pay a brief visit to Rupelmonde, known for its tidal mill, Mercator Island and the surrounding floodplain, which is designed to protect the town from the caprices of the Scheldt. We then re-embark and begin our return journey.

On the way back, we pass through the huge ship lock at Wintam-Bornem. An experience in itself.

We then sail back along the Sea Canal towards Willebroek and finally Kapelle-op-den-Bos, where we started our day trip.

Boating & cycling

Do you love our waterways and nature, a relaxing bike ride and a fresh breeze aboard a ship? Then a boat trip through the Green Belt, the Zenne Valley or the National Park Scheldt Valley is definitely something for you. Out by boat and back by bike or vice versa: most boat trips can be perfectly combined with a relaxing bike ride. You can explore the region along one of the many signposted cycling routes. Cycling is done on your own initiative and with your own bike.
