We bring you by bus from Halle to Strépy-Thieu, where the boat trip departs.
Immediately after departure we navigate in the impressive ship elevator of Strépy-Thieu, which allows us to bridge a height difference of 73m. We continue our boat trip on the new 'canal du Centre', which has been constructed as a kind of aqueduct above the landscape and enjoy a panoramic view on the Hainaut plateau. At Houdeng-Goegnies we make a short walk to the hydraulic ship lift nr.1 on the historical 'canal du Centre' (Unesco World Heritage Site).
Some time later we continue our trip on the Canal Charleroi-Brussels and we 'track' down the Inclined Plane of Ronquières (68m) in a large water basin. Finally the ship passes through the boat locks of Ittre and Lembeek.
Our daytrip takes end in Halle, where we disembark.
Additional info: the boarding point in Halle is easy to reach by train: the station is a 5-minute walk from the Suikerkaai. Cars can be parked freely on Sundays in the Delhaize car park next to Suikerkaai.
