We cruise through 'Rivierenland' on the Rupel, the Scheldt and the Sea Canal. Our boat trip passes Boom, Rupelmonde, Bornem and Willebroek, During this trip we will also pass through the historical lock of Klein-Willebroek (if possible with the tide) and the big Wintam-Bornem sea lock.
The region is characterised by a rich industrial past. Think of the old brickyard industry at Boom and Niel , the lost shipbuilding yards at Rupelmonde, the artisanal glass production and basket weaving in hamlets such as Buitenland, Hingene along the Scheldt and Rupel.
Near Kruibeke, you will sail past new controlled flood areas, where nature is once again given every opportunity and surrounding habitations will be protected from flooding.
You will enjoy a varied afternoon trip, focusing on the region's special industrial heritage.
