Boat trip from Thieu to the upper level of the Inclined Plane of Ronquières and back to Thieu.
10:00: Boarding and start of the boat trip.
We navigate from Thieu to the impressive boat lift of Strépy-Thieu where our ship will be lifted in a huge watercontainer. An unusual experience.
We continu towards the Inclined Plane, that we will reach around 13:00.
Short visit. You will get a spectacular view over the Inclined Plane of Ronquières from the upper level of the construction.
After our stop in Ronquières we rejoin the captain and his crew and we sail back to our starting location. We will pass the elevator of Strépy-Thieu for a second time. THis time to go down to a lower level of the canal, which is eaven more impressive then the lifting.
Our boat tour ends at Thieu around 16:15.
After arriving at Thieu, we take a short walk to the hydraulic ship lift n° 4 on the historic Centre Canal. The guide explains this unique old type of ship lift (recognised as a Unesco World Heritage Site).

Shared meals that require special equipment (cool box, large packaging, plate and cutlery) are not allowed on board.
Bringing your own sandwich is allowed. Beverage must be purchased on board.
