Departure of the boat trip in Halle
We cruise on the Brussels-Charleroi canal through the green Zenne Valley. We sail along the municipalities of Lembeek, Tubize, Braine-le-Château and Ittre, we pass the ship lock of Lembeek and the impressive ship lock of Ittre (with a level difference of 14m!).
We arrive at the foot of the Inclined Plane of Ronquières. In a large water basin, the ship is taken upwards on this hydraulic steel structure. We overcome a height difference of 68m.
We sail on to Seneffe, to a location where the Brussels-Charleroi canal and the Centre canal connect and where we disembark.
A bus will then take the participants to the famous Strépy-Thieu ship lift for a short guided (outside) visit.
After this stop we return to Halle by bus.
Cyclists who sail along (they can disembark in Ronquières or Seneffe) can cycle the way back along a beautiful cycling route along the waterways to Halle.
