Rupelmonde is known as the birthplace of Gerard de Kremer or Gerardus Mercator. The guide will tell you the story of the life of this famous Flemish cartographer and highlight the magnificent historical past from his hometown, including her tidal mill, the Nautical Center Rupelmonde and the Grave Tower. Arrival and welcome at the castle Wissekerke.

Visit of the domain and the castle park. Walk along the medieval buildings: Pigeon Tower, Eenhoorn and St. Peter’s Church.

Departure to Rupelmonde. Visit of the 16th century tidal mill, unique in Europe. Village walk in the track of Mercator, along the embankment of the Scheldt, the skippers district ‘Schelleke’ and its sundial path, the Grave Tower and the Nautical Center where historical ships are being restored.
