Gerardus Mercator. The guide will tell you the
story of the life of this famous Flemish cartographer
and highlight the magnificent historical past from his
hometown, including her tidal mill, the Nautical Center
Rupelmonde and the Grave Tower. Both boroughs
located in the land of the Scheldt treat you to a

Arrival and welcome at the castle Wissekerke.
09:40:Visit of the domain and the castle park. Walk along the medieval buildings: Pigeon Tower, Eenhoorn and St. Peter’s Church.
11:00 :Departure to Rupelmonde. Visit of the 16th century tidal mill, unique in Europe. Village walk in the track of Mercator, along the embankment of the Scheldt, the skippers district ‘Schelleke’ and its sundial path, the Grave Tower and the Nautical Center where historical ships are being restored.
12:30 :End of the walk + departure to Temse.
13:15 :Embarkation on board the ship at the Wilfordkaai in Temse + meal.
13.30 :Departure of the “Silent Waters” boat trip. The boat trip takes you to the poetic StAmands and Mariekerke, along the lade of the Durme and the Rupel, Hamme-Driegoten, Weert, The Notelaer in Hingene, the abbey of Hemiksem,... the places where the series ‘Silent Waters’ was recorded. This boat trip on the Scheldt from Temse brings you nature, peace and quiet relaxation.
