10:00: Guided walk 'Fountains, springs and drinking water in the Brussels Pentagon'

The city walk takes you along the fountains of Brussels. Discreet or majestic, new or old, with different inspirations: their presence is refreshing. Over the years, they have been fed with water from the sources of the Coperbeek, the Broebelaer and the Hain. Throughout the history of these fountains, you will also discover drinking water distribution systems set up from the Middle Ages to the present day to supply the people of Brussels. This 6 km loop takes you past symbolic places such as the Grand Place, the Sablon, Brussels Park and Mont des Arts, where the fountains highlight the city's water and encourage you to meet or chat.

Departure: Grand Place of Brussels (in front of the Bread House)

12:30 - 12:45: end of the guided walk and embarkation (Havenlaan / Sainctelette). Meal on board possible.

13:00: Departure boat tour.

During the cruise you will discover Brussels and its port, the historic buildings of Tour & Taxis and the “Familistère” Godin, the Mill, historic bridges, new pedestrian bridges and new parks near the canal. There is also the Laeken Domain, the Brussels marina and the new construction along the canal in Brussels and Vilvoorde. You will also discover how attempts are being made to improve biodiversity in and along the waterfront by creating nesting places for swallows, installing green riverbank rafts, etc... We will continue through the northern green fringe, past Grimbergen and Kapelle-o/d-Bos until before the Zemst lock. We turn and sail back to our starting point.
